Annie Sloan Soft Wax is a fabulous easy to use wax product to add a protective finish to paintwork done in Chalk Paint TM decorative paint by Annie Sloan. Available in two finishes: Clear and Dark. Use Clear wax first, to finish paintwork. Then if desired, use Dark wax over the Clear to add an “aged” or antiqued look.
Apply Soft Wax in thin layers using a wax brush or a soft lint free rag. (do not use steel wool). Work the wax into the paintwork to become absorbed until it is just damp to the touch, but not a greasy layer you can move around with your finger, nor a wet tacky touch. Leave wax to dry several hours, overnight, or 24 hours. When dry, buff to a soft sheen with a soft lint free cloth or a soft buffing brush.
Wax on paintwork takes approximately 3 weeks or more to completely cure to a harder durable protective finish. In that time, take a bit of common sense care with the waxed item, to allow full curing (you can use it, but best not to expose to hard wear until cured).
