Style & Makeover Your Furniture Workshop, Angaston, SA
The Style & Makeover Your Furniture Workshop is a fun and inspiring day spent transforming a piece of furniture you bring with paint, waxes, and your choice of a range of decorative techniques. We start the day with a Design Brief Session, which helps you consider your piece and what its potential is, while you consider the look for its makeover. This process also will help you suss up other items you find, acquire or have and work out what the possibilities for making them over into.
For paint, we will be using Chalk Paint™ by Annie Sloan and other products. You can choose to use distressing, wax resist, dry brushing, coloured waxes, stencilling, gilding, decoupage, sign writing, or free hand painting techniques to take your makeover piece from oh to wow.
We teach you the basics and lots lots more. You’ll love what you create and how you can use what you learn to create stunning furniture makeovers, crafts, art, and more. The workshop size is limited to a small group of attendees so we can provide personalised advice and help everyone get a fabulous result. It is suitable for those with no experience painting furniture or for those who wish to add to their repertoire skills making over furniture and other items. Your instructors for the day are experienced teachers who have years of professional furniture restoring and makeover experience and know how to guide you to a beautiful result no matter your level of experience.
We have lots of great materials and supplies for you to choose from and all workshop materials are provided. We will be providing small project pots of Chalk Paint™ and Soft Wax for your project. We will also provide you with colour cards, sandpaper, polishing cloths, and more. While in our studio you will have use of paint and wax brushes, paint rollers, stencils, decorative papers, art and finishing mediums and glazes, and more. (please note we will not have paint available for sale at the workshop, but can refer you to stockists where you can order your supplies)).
Instructors are on hand throughout and after the workshop to assist and advise with colour, technique and product advice, technical questions, or help with ideas and advice on how to achieve a desired look.
The workshop will be held at our inspiring Art Studio space overlooking private gardens in Angaston, SA 5353
A lovely light lunch and afternoon tea will be provided.
The item you bring needs to be small enough to carry in on your own, so you will have time to complete its transformation with paint and wax, plus your choices of embellishing techniques. The item you bring should be no larger than 50 x 50 x 30 cm estimated size, small enough to carry under one arm or in one hand with ease, and of timber. Simple straight line pieces are easiest to do. Light varnished or painted finishes are OK, but no chipping or flaking loose paint please. No items of metal, plastic, fabric, laminate, or melamine (though these can be painted with Chalk Paint™ by Annie Sloan, but require extra prep work that can’t be completed in this workshop time). Please thoroughly clean and dust your piece prior to bringing it to the workshop. Feel free to call us to discuss suitability of the item you wish to bring. Or to get ideas from us on items we know will make successful projects in a workshop setting.
Places in the workshops are limited, so please secure your workshop place soon. Payment for the workshop is due in full at time of booking.
Sorry, no refunds. (if you cannot attend and advise us 72 hours in advance, we can rebook your place to another open workshop date and seat).
